One of the things I love about my Silhouette Cameo is the ability to size the cuts.  I really liked this Stampin Up stamp, but felt it was just to small by itself, but too large for the dies. The solution was to use the Silhouette to make a big door and a lamp post to go with it.

I got a new sewing machine. My 39.95 Kenmore gave out.  I bought my new XL2600i for under $90.00 and so far I am loving it.

I sewed my first card with it and it works like a dream.  I am still have a little problem with the corners, but that's the operator's skills or lack of.

This is a little experiment I did by printing digi  directly onto pattern paper. I rather like how it turned out, although blending the Copics was a little challenging and I think that was because of the paper weight. I couldn't lay down too much color or the paper would wrinkle.

I am so in love with these French Tulips from Power Poppy. I just checked and you can still purchase them as a digi.  I cannot tell you the name of the paper as I have lost the cover from the pad.  The plaid was stitched to a heaver green patterned paper from DCWV.

I am entering this in Power Poppies first blog challenge, Pop Goes the World - key word PPWORLD1.

All Dressed Up

This image, colors and leafy frame remind me of a pretty dress. 

So I started my dressing my card with these gorgeous Gerber Daisies from Power Poppy. Love, love these flowers. When I took my water color class, the instructor talked about lighting and how to determine where the light comes from and that the objects nearest should fade into the light.  When I printed the digi from my Word document, I used a tool to fade the picture, so that I could achieve the look I wanted.

I colored my daisies with Copics (V09, BV02, BV000, YG63, YG11).  I used a Prisma Jasmine marker for the yellow centers, and Prisma pencil Porcelain Blue with Gamsol to shad the background.

I framed the image with Spellbinders Adorning Squares, and lining it with this pretty lavender scrap.  The leafy border with cut with my Silhouette Cameo.  

As usual, I waited until I had everything colored and put together THEN.. I decided to stamp the sentiment and, well you know what happened.  Will I ever learn?  The sentiment is from Stampin Up.

Maybe I should find a challenge for my flowers, but I would rather spend time coloring and visiting my favorite artists.  

I feel good.

CAS

I joined in on a CAS challenge at Splitcoast Stampers.  The theme for this challenge was "love".
This is what I came up with.  I doesn't get any simpler than this.

The sentiment is from Stampin Up and the butterfly is from Skipping Stones.  I colored the butterfly with Spectrum Noir DR7 and CR11 and added some gems and mounted it on black card stock.

I find myself move more towards the simple lately.

Stitching

Count them.. I have posted 3 days in a row.  And I've even held a couple back. I had a really long dry spell where I just couldn't produce anything I really liked. I'm starting to feel creative again, so I thought I would try entering another Mo Challenge, which is stitching (real or faux). I chose real, because after all I paid good money ($49.95) for that machine. I've heard people use them for mending clothes also. Can you believe that?

I colored this sweetie with Copics.  The sentiment is from Stampin Up.  The added some bakers twine with a strawberry that I cropped from a PSX stamp. The image was matted with some DCWV DP and red cardstock.

Missed it!

I saw this  Clean and Simple Challenge  layout a few days and just knew I  had to make something.  The problem is that the challenge is over. Pay attention Gail!  Read and take notes, because I can no longer rely on my memory to keep things is order.  Oh well, I can't waste a good card.

The flower and the sentiment are from Stampabilities.  The backdrop is a Stampin Up that I've had for years. The only color to the one flower was done with Copic R30 and RV04. I used Paper Trey Ink's rick rack die at the bottom of the sentiment and used a Cuddle Bug damask embossing folder for the bottom portion of the card. Jewels were added to give the card a little more balance.

I Made a Wish

I've been in a slump lately.  I'm hoping to make a come back with this card. I've been so discouraged by my lack of creativity, that I haven't even visited my list of people that inspire me. Now how dumb is that??

This is a Whipper Snapper stamp that I colored with Copics.  The sentiment is from Stampin Up. I can't tell you where the DP came from (sometimes the cover separates from the pad). The punch and the flower are from Martha Stewart.

Next Best Thing to Chocolate

This is my second card with watermelon (see High Hopes label).  I took a lot of flack for suggesting I may like it even  more than chocolate. I reconsidered, and yes chocolate is #1.

My watermelon is more pink than red.. I colored my ant from Stampin Up with Copics, used a spellbinder's die to cut out and mount on DP by DCWV.  (Does anyone know what DCWV stands for?)
The little cherries on each side is a Lockhart stamp. "Crazy Cool" is sticker from The Paper Studio. I just started using stickers and I'm becoming a fan.

Butterfly Hope

This card was so simple and one of my favorites.

This beautiful butterfly is from Stampendous.  I colored the butterfly with Copics and cut it out.
On the very tips of the wings, I used 3D paint and sprinkled some glitter on it before it dried.
The circles were done with a stamp from Rubber Soul.  I embossed the top portion and added "Hope" from Stampin Up. Three little jewels were added to finish it off.

I love happy cards.

Buttercup

I am so ready for Spring and so is Buttercup.  I got Buttercup in the mail yesterday. Isn't he sweet?
I saw in done up on another blog (The Spotted Chick)  and just had to have him.

This is my first attempt at ruffles. I think I like it.  The ruffles left a shadow on the white and gave it a ruffled affect also.

I colored Buttercup mostly with Prisma Colors and Gamsol, using only a little Copic on the bow and ground. There is just a hint of Stickles (have to have them) on his bow.  The punches are Martha Stewart. Buttercup is a Lady Bug Craft Ink stamp and the sentiment is from Stampin Up.

Forced to Embellish

A while back I was commenting on how I had bought all these embellishments, but hadn't used any. Well this is a baby step and I was forced to do it.  Those little flowers in the upper left hand corner are covering up a boo boo.  Stamping 101 -- don't add a sentiment after the card is finished and know when to call it.

Some would not even count this as an embellishment, but you may have noticed, ribbon and Stickles have been my limit.

Gee! Do you suppose I am ready to do a different layout?  You may have also noticed almost all my cards have nearly everything centered.  Sometimes, I do get really wild and tie a bow off to the side. 

Here's the scoop.  Stamp is Stampin Up colored with Copics and pencil. The Sentiment is PTI. Paper is Cosmo Cricket. I used Spellbinders dies and I don't know who belongs to these cute little flowers.

My first post was a winter card.  Today, I am posting a Thanksgiing card. Don't try to follow my logic. There is none.

This is a Stampin Up stamp I bought at a rummage.  There were 3 seasons in a plastic sack.  The date on the stamp is 2003 and I think the set is discontinued.  I colored it with Copics, and blended the background with pencil.  The paper is from K&Company, Fall Harvest specialty pad.  I also used Stickles on the pumpkin, but the glitter never shows up in the photos. As I was putting the completed project away, I smudged the glitter. But, oh well... It is a hand made card. Right?
