There's nothing like making a Christmas card to pull you out of a creative slump.  I love these doves from Flourishes and this Marianne die is my new favorite.

Flourishes Christmas in July

I have not been feeling very creative lately, but challenge me to make a Christmas card and I'm in all the way.  Love, love to make Christmas cards.

The stamp did not indicate what type of birds these are and there wasn't anything in the Flourishes gallery, so I decided they should be Robins, although you'll never see one in Iowa during the Winter season.

I've colored the image with Copics and touched it up with some Prisma pencils.  I needed to lengthen the Marianne die to fit the image, so I covered up the cut with a Martha Stewart pine leaf punch.  The center step card was made with my Silhouette Cameo and the side panels were embossed with a Fiskers folder.

I am entering this in the Flouishes Christmas in July card (FTTC230).

Fall in a Window

I've recently rediscovered my Silhouette Cameo.  Step cards are now sooo easy.

I colored this Flourishes Autumn Blossoms stamp with a combo of Copic and Prisma markers. I cut the image out, which left some of the details a little frail, so I reinforced it from the back using some Diamond Glaze.  The corner dies were snipped from a larger Cheery Lynn die and the little butterfly in the corner is a Fiskers punch.

Two post in 2 days!  I'm on a roll!

Father's Day

Our American Bulldog, Lulu, is now 1 year old.  There were many times we wondered if we would survive the puppy stage and this bread is known for being stubborn.  So it was a matter of wills between one stubborn man verses one stubborn bulldog.  You be the judge of who won out.

This was a new chair before Lulu. Notice the handle.

When the kids were growing up, they knew when Dad came into the room, they were to get up from Dads chair when he entered the room.

Lhasa Apso

This Mo's Digital Pencil image is so cute, I could have printed on a old wrinkled up brown paper sack and it would still be cute.  I posted this card on Splitcoast Stampers and it got a moderate response, which makes me think it's not as spectacular as I think it is.  I am humbled.

So I went to Minnesota to visit my sister and along the way I stopped at my favorite craft store A Walk Down Memory Lane. (Okay, maybe it was a little out of my way.) Anyway, I purchased these fabulous dies, Spring Border by Memory Box and the Leafy Flourish is by Die-namics. Aren't they gorgeous?

I printed Lhasa apso on some pink cards stock (also purchased at AWML) and used just a little grey pencil on him.  The butterfly is from Flourishes.  After I made the card, I Googled Lhasa apso and they are actually white with golden highlights.

Fascination, Part III

My third and final lighthouse, and I'm ahead of schedule. That may be a first.

This the last of the three lighthouses I have from the Cornish Heritage Farm set, but I probably won't be the last time I use them.

#1 Son - Hubby - #2 Son

This last card was colored with Copics. I used spellbinders dies for mounting and the ship's wheel. The die in the middle is a Cuttlebug die. The paper is from Paper Studio and the sentiment is from Flourishes.  The rocks were snagged from Hubby's beautifully landscaped yard. I better put them back before he misses them. 

Patriotic Daisies.

I am entering this one in Flourishes Flourishes Star Spangled Banner Challenge.  I also used the keyword FLLCJUNE11 at Splitcoast. So if i link it back to my blog, is that entering twice?  So much to learn about blogging.   

I started out using pencil on the daisies, then switched to Twinkling H2O's.  I did some not so straight stitching and mounted on some deep blue card stock. I know as a rule (okay maybe never) flowers don't have red centers, but they were just too pretty to color over the red.


The sentiment is from Paper Trey Ink.

That's Krafty Thursday #50

I don't know why I don't use this craft card stock more often.  I love the effect. I haven't entered many challenges lately and  The Spotted Chick has a Thursday challenge at least once a month using craft card stock. And... this is her 50th challenge and she has challenged everyone to make it 50+ entries.  Here is my mine.

This is the Flourishes Gerbera Daisies.  Mine are pink.  I first stamped them on craft card stock. Then I colored really hard with white pencil on the daisies and then highlighted them with Copic #RV14 Begonia Pink. I also used Copics for the green.  You have to do a lot of testing, because the colors are not always what you expect when coloring on craft card stock.  I used pink thread to stitch, and mounted the daisies on black and two shades of pink.

Post from the Past!

Since I will be torn up until April 11th when my furniture arrives, I'm been digging into my stash. This card goes back to before I started doing square cards.  It looks so little. But how about those Daisies?

The stamp is from Flourishes which I colored with a combination of Copics and Prisma Pencils with Gamsol.
The punch is Martha Stewart and the paper is from my stash (probably K&Company).
