Challenge 62 - Fantasies and Fairies

Guess what my friend Sherri gave me for Christmas? 
A gift certificate for Mo's Digital Pencil Shop.  I had no trouble spending it. So I decided I try a challenge.

I decided I would put the fairy in a snow globe.  I cut the circle with a Spelbinders die. The base is a Spellbinder's die which I sliced in half and free handed the layers.

I colored her with Copics and shaded with pencil and Gamsol. I used a sparkly blue Gelly Roll pen to detail the skirt ruffles and dotted the globe with Stickles.

The paper is Karen Foster Design.

Shall I play for you?

I made this card for my best freind Sherri. We had our Christmas and exchanged gifts, so she has seen this.
We stamp together almost every Saturday, so I wanted something she hadn't seen.

He is really detailed, but I love details.  I had to photo this card twice.  The first time, I went to upload the photo to my PC, I noticed that I forget to do his nose. One other time I forgot to color a bird's beak.  What do you suppose that's all about?  Maybe it's because I have a really small nose. (That's the only thing small about me these days. )

Anyway.. The paper is from K&Company. This is another Mo's Digital that I colored with Copics and Prisma Pencils and Gamsol.  I love the instant gratification with the digitals.  It's so stressful to order the most adorablle stamp you have ever seen, order it (if it's instock) then wait days for it to arive in the mail.  An added bonus with the digitals is I don't have black ink all over my fingers.

Warm Winter Wishes

I'm blond!  I saw this challenge over at the Pickled Paper Design.  I knew right away what I wanted to do.
I downloaded these images from Verve Stamps last year. I love the simplicity of the mittens.  Now my dilemma is I can't figure out how to enter the challenge.  I think it's pretty challenge or not.

This card is loaded with bling, with the jewels on the mittens and the "i" in Winter, all done up on glittery

I colored the mittens with Copic BG13. Also used Hobby Lobby ribbon, a Spellbinders die and a Martha Stewart puch for those tiny snowflakes.

How about another Challenge?

Well we survived the blizzard. Although we had to shovel.  Our very expensive snow blower, (that we just got back from being serviced) broke!  So can you believe I would want to do a winter card? When I checked these cute little stamps, I just couldn't resist.

The challenge is from Catch The Bug Challenge Blog and the challenge is "Winter Wonderland with lots of glitter and sparkle!"  I think white background cards are going to be hard to photo. I did this one about 6 times and decided this one is the best.  The Stamp is a digital from Bugaboo Stamps.  I traced the cupcake holder with a gel pen and sprinkled some embossing power on it.  It turned out pretty good, but the photo won't show it.  I colored it with Copics, Primsa Pencils and Gamsol.  I used a Spellbinder die, a Cuttlebug die for the snowflake and a Sizzix embossing folder.  I used lots of Stickels (again the photo doesn’t show it).  I added some jewels to the icing and the embossed snowflakes.

Storm Warning: Two feet of snow

They warned us Friday that there was a storm coming.  So, I am prepared. I went to the store and bought all my comfort foods. Then I downloaded a bunch of images from Mo's Digital Pencil.  I'm ready!

For those of you who don't live in Iowa.. Burrrr!  Our first storm of the season.  Although we aren't expected to get much snow, the winds are around 40 MPR and the temp is steadily declining.  We are expected to have wind chills way below zero and the blowing snow makes for white-out conditions.

My BFF gave me this stamp a while back.  I've had him colored for a couple of weeks. I've been trying to tweak the faux ribbon boarder that I did with a Paper Trey Ink stamp and die cut from the Friendship Jar set.

I've had this argument with my BFF. I said I've never seen a snowman with boots, she says she has.

(I think she been drinking).  

The stamp is Snowman Winter Greeting Card Set by Peach Keen Stamps. I colored him with Copics and added a little Stickles to the tree.  I also used stamps and die from Paper Trey Inc, Spellbinder's die and the paper is from K&Company.

OMG!!

I am a Krafty Chick!  Can you believe it? I've already done my happy dance. (Good thing I can't post that)!

Well a big thanks to Jeanie for all her encouragement. I wish I were a little more "krafty" with how I express myself. All I can say is OMG! OMG! If you visit the the very talented Jeanie at  The Spotted Chick you will know what an honor this is.

What did I find?

Will you look at what I found back in a basket on my desk.  While tiding up (just a little), I found this card I made last year.  I think the reason he hung around a full year was cause I wasn't crazy about the layout. So I cut the front of the card off and repositioned him on a larger card. Walla!

I know he is a Penny Black stamp, and I think I cut out the holly from an embossing done with a Cuttlebug folder and colored him with Copics.

I also experimented with some different lighting and a plate stand.  This may be my new look.
Speaking of new looks.  My TKT #43 Challenge has a slightly new look.  I just wasn't happy with the light on that one either. So I re shot it and I think it looks much better.  Learn as you go. Right?

My first challenge entry!

I'm kind of unsure about this. Am I good enough to even be entering a challenge? So few have visited my blog, that I could be fooling myself.  I had fun anyway. So here is my entry for That's Krafty Thursday #43

Drum roll....

This is Butch an Mimi from Stamping Bella.

I colored them with Copics and shaded with Prisma pencils. The paper and the ribbon are from Hobby Lobby.  I didn't have a soft gray, but I found a piece of soft blue bazzle, which I rather like.  I freelanced the diamond cuts on the side and added a little red jewel.  The tag is a Spellbinders die.

Happiness is furry!

Let's switch it up a bit.  I could do Christmas all year long, but time has dictated that I upload some of my stash.  I do love to color.

I don't know why I can't get these pictures any bigger.  I'm still new to the blog world.
This is a Mo's Digital Pencil. I wish I could tell you the name of the paper because it's gorgeous and all I have left are some scraps.  I colored this with Prisma Pencils and Gamsol.  I also punched some circles of the same paper and popped them up to the right.

Visions of Sugar Plums

Well, doesn't he look all comfy? All snuggled up with visions of sugar plums in is head. I don't think I've ever had a sugar plum.  They can't be as good as a chocolate aniclair. Yum!

This is another Mo's Digital Pencil. I colored it with Copics, pencil and Gamsol and cut him out with a Spellbinders label die.  The Paper is from K&Company. I don't know if you can tell that I cut the mouse and the tea cup out and popped them up with Pop Dots.

Macho Penguin

This guy is on a mission. Can't you just read his mind? Trying to be all macho.  Anyway that's the way I see him.  There's a novel behind every card.  Hmm! Do I need  help?

This is a Mo's Digital Pencil image.  I just love the digitals. You can size them to suite your card.  I colored him with Copics and shaded with pencil and Gamsol.  I did a little bit of faux stitching and mounted him on some My Mind's Eye paper.  The sentiment is another used stamp find.

Which do you like?

This is Mo's Digital Pencil image that I colored two different ways.  I really can't decide which one I like best. The artist is one of my most favorites.

On the second card I used liquid perils for a pretty snow effect.

The stamp is Mo's Digital Pencil.  The Paper on the first is My Mind's Eye.  The second card, I think is K&Company paper. Both images were colored with Copics and shaded with pencil.  I used Stickles on boughs of both cards and a different Spellbinders dies for each.

Sing along

I can only imagine what caroling cats would sound like.  If I were to audition to join them, they would definitely say "No Way." If only they could hear how wonderful I sing in the shower.

Whatever. These felines just sang there way onto my paper.  Aren't they cute?

This is a  Mo Manning Digital Pencil. I colored them with pencil and Gamsol. This is a square card, so I had to  improvise a little with the Cuttlebug embossing folder. The paper is from My Mind's Eye and I have one more sheet left that I am hording. I cut them in a Spellbinder's round die and matted it with a Martha Stewart punch.



All Better

Well, I am back, but not happy.  Formatting went very well. I've got everything back and running, but I cannot get the upgrade @!#$%.  Deep breaths! Deep breaths!

Now let's talk tranquility, joy and peace. This little guy is so sweet he just calmed me right down..

The Artist is Carolyn Shores Wright. The the stamp is from Stamps Happen. I stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black, Colored with Copics, pencil and Gamsol.  I used Spellbinders die and mounted it on some paper, that I have no idea where it come from other than the scraps I keep. I also used a Martha Stewart Punch for the lace.

Plum Purdy

I started this last night.  At the time the blue seamed like a nice idea, but now I'm not so sure. 

The Stamp is by Plum Purdy Stamps.  The name says it all.  Her designs are mostly for tole painting, but she does carry a small line of stamps.  I really wish she would do more. I have a couple of her Christmas stamps I will post later.  Colored with Copics and pencil.

Taking care of business

Well, I want to post again before I format my PC.  My hubby bought me Windows 7 last year for Christmas, and I think I should install it before this Christmas.  So just in case things don't go well...

This is another "to do" item that was put off.  I've got the card made, now I just got to deliver it with the gift. I think I'll do that right after I format.

The stamp is Inkadinkado. The sentiment is G Studio. I colored with Copics, and used the Spellbinders Pasley dies.  The paper is K&Company.

Penny Black Autumnal Gifts Cling Stamp

This is my only other Thanksgiving Card.  I can't believe I've only made two so far.  Fall colors are my favorite.

I used Copics and pencil with gamsol.  Added just a hint of Stickles to the wheat. I used a Spellbinders label die and then matted it with a Martha Stewart punch.

Back track.

My first post was a winter card.  Today, I am posting a Thanksgiing card. Don't try to follow my logic. There is none.

This is a Stampin Up stamp I bought at a rummage.  There were 3 seasons in a plastic sack.  The date on the stamp is 2003 and I think the set is discontinued.  I colored it with Copics, and blended the background with pencil.  The paper is from K&Company, Fall Harvest specialty pad.  I also used Stickles on the pumpkin, but the glitter never shows up in the photos. As I was putting the completed project away, I smudged the glitter. But, oh well... It is a hand made card. Right?

My first Post. Here we go!

So, here we have it.  And let me say, I am glad I waited to do this.  Awhile back I ran across some of the very first cards I made.  Eeek!  I can't believe I actually gave them to people.  Well, most were family, so they have to love me. This is one of my first Christmas cards of the season.  I used pencils and gamsol. The stamp is "Snuggle Season" from Stampendous.  The paper is Wonderful Season from My Mind's Eye.The white backround was done with a Quickutz embossing folder. Also used was a Spellbinders label die and the  border die was from Papertreyink.
