That's Krafty Thursday #50

I don't know why I don't use this craft card stock more often.  I love the effect. I haven't entered many challenges lately and  The Spotted Chick has a Thursday challenge at least once a month using craft card stock. And... this is her 50th challenge and she has challenged everyone to make it 50+ entries.  Here is my mine.

This is the Flourishes Gerbera Daisies.  Mine are pink.  I first stamped them on craft card stock. Then I colored really hard with white pencil on the daisies and then highlighted them with Copic #RV14 Begonia Pink. I also used Copics for the green.  You have to do a lot of testing, because the colors are not always what you expect when coloring on craft card stock.  I used pink thread to stitch, and mounted the daisies on black and two shades of pink.

My New Craft Room

It's been so long since I mentioned I was redoing my office/craft room, I bet you all thought I was just blowing smoke. Well, I just had to wait until everything was just perfect. My boys hung my selves last week, and I just had a couple of finishing touches. I debated what order to show you.
I'll start with the old.  I must tell you, I am messy, but the first two photos are after I emptied my oak desk that I sold, and I just piled everything in the middle of the room. However, my craft desk usually looked like this.

My guest bedroom was the temporary storage.

DH painted the lovely lavender walls.

My DH was not happy that, I had him take down the ugly ceiling fan. But I think I made the right choice.

A different Saturday

Sherri went to Lincoln to spend Easter with family, and left me here by myself. I just don't know where her priorities are!!  So boo, I had a Lean Cuisine for lunch, and made a card by myself.  Well, tomorrow, I have Church, and then Easter dinner here with my family. I can't wait to see those little granddaughters in their Easter dresses.

Here is my solo.

Sherri gave me this gift certificate for Hambo Stamps. I colored my herd with Prisma Pencils and Gamsol.

The paper is from My Mind's Eye Glitter Book.  That stuff is hard to glue, so Zip Dry is a must. The little flower (my big embellishment) is from Sandylion Essentials that I purchased at Michael's along with the ribbon.

A Friend in Need.

Well I hope I still have friends. I have been here, but have had zero energy and I had to nurse my Mojo back.
I have been working some extra long hours and getting older may have something to do with my lack of energy. I had a lot of catching up with my blog friends, and I'm not done.  So this card seems appropriate. Luckily, I don't know anyone under the weather, so for now this one is for my Mojo and I will put it in my stash.

This is a digi is Bigsby from Karen's Doodles. I used Prisma Pencils and Gamsol to color them. I cut them out with a spellbinders die and added a pretty flower K&Company.  I used a Martha Stewart punch for the corners. The pattern paper is also from K&Company.

I really have to kit the hay now.  Bye.

The storm.

 So I have to tell you about Saturday's storms.  The tornado that went through Mapleton, Iowa was about 30 miles from here. The pictures look devastating, but luckily no one was seriously injured.
Here's how it went down at our house. I was in my new studio (doesn't that sound fancy) when the sirens went off.  On my way to the basement, I go to the four season's room, to see if DH heard them (I knew he did).  He said he wasn't going because he had the weather channel on and he'd be just fine in his room with nothing but windows. After 40 years, I don't argue. I went to the basement and turned on the the weather channel. After a while it looked as if it was going to miss us, I went back up to check on him and guess what?? He's now standing with the door open watching the wind and rain.  I swear I don't know how any man would survive a tornado.

Now the card.  I was visiting Mary J. and she had this fabulous card using a Some Odd Girl digi. She mentioned there was a challenge. Well, any excuse to to shopping, right? So this is what I made with my purchase. I can see me using this digi a lot.

I didn't get the lighting just right on the inside. Mary J always decorates the inside, and I think that so nice.
I am entering my card in the Some Odd Girl's CAS challenge.

So here is what I used for the card.  Sunflowers digi is from Some Odd Girl, the sentiment is Verve. I used Copics and some Martha Steward glitter around the faces. The paper is Basic Grey.

Say if with flowers

So finally I have a challenge to enter.. Penny Black Saturday Challenge is "Say It With Flowers". Well that's not hard at all and I knew right away what stamp I wanted to use.

Can you see the Martha Stewart glitter I used on the flower and wings? This stamp is Penny Black Bee Costume. (As if this cat could really disguise himself.) The sentiment is from Verve Stamps. I did some paper piecing and matted him on black with some saddle stitch ribbon. The paper is from my scrap bin.

One a my very first and loyal members has just joined the design team at Digi Doodle Shop's Best. Diane is making her day-bu next Thursday the 14th, but don't wait till then to see some of her awesome cards here.
We both started our blogs about the same time and I couldn't be for happier for her. So this card is for you, Diane...

This is just one of the digi's I chose from DDSB along with about 3 others. The sentiment "So jazzed for you" is from Verve Stamps.  I used Copics, cut it out with a Spellbinders die and added some ribbon from Michael's then touched it off with some Martha Stewart glitter on the mushrooms. The paper is from that same paper pack that I lost the cover to so again I can't tell you who makes it. Sorry.

I'll probably have to go back and edit this.  The storm sirens just went off.

Good Humor!

You have to really know the person's sense of humor when you send this card. The person I am saving this for has it! She doesn't have a birthday for a couple of months and I pretty sure she doesn't read my blog, and I could keep it to myself until then.

Now tell me you didn't giggle a little bit!

My friend Sherri (no she's not the one who will be receiving it) gave me a gift certificate for Hambo Stamps and this one along with sentiment are a couple that I chose.

My little gardener was colored with Copics and cut out with a Spellbinders label die. I lost the cover of this paper pad so I can't tell you who makes it, but if I ever run across it again, I'm buying more. My Sherri supplied the felt ribbon and the jewels.

I hope I haven't lost any followers. I really have a lot of guilt. Not because I haven't posted, but because I have neglected a you lovely ladies and your wonderful creative blogs. You are my inspiration.  So hears a big thanks to all of you who have stuck by me.

This is Becky a front and back series from Art Impressions. I love her little freckled face. The image is perfectly matched so if you have the patience you can actually cut them out and paste. I colored Becky with Copics and I free handed the fence. The awesome paper is from My Mind's Eye. I cut her out with Spellbinders dies and topped it off with some pretty gingham ribbon I picked up at Hobby Lobby. The "Thanks" is from Hero Arts. 

 I finally got the last piece of furniture today. As soon as I put it together with some finishing touches, I will post my before and after.  

I haven't entered a challenge forever, so if anyone knows a category this fit, please let me know.
