Fascination

So the last couple weeks, I have just been fascinated with light houses. Every time one of my fellow bloggers post a light house card I just sit and stare with awe.  Now you talented ladies do many and delightful cards, so why light houses?  I have been watching an HGTV series called "Sara's House".  She is redoing her island cottage. (Everyone's got one right?) Everything is nautical and just out of this world. Then I remembered this stamp I had from Cornish Heritage Farms.  I bought before I got into Copics, and hadn't had it out for a couple of years.  I hate to toot my own horn... But I actually thought outside the box (a little).

I think I will give this to Hubby for Father's day.  He never goes near the computer, so I am safe.

Both image and sentiment are from Cornish Heritage Farms.  The paper was purchased at Michaels in their clearance bin.  I also purchased the striped embossed card from Michaels.

I made one dud, which will never be posted, and this one I a quite pleased with. I think I would like to vacation in Maine sometime so I am entering this in crazy4challenges C4C89 - Favorite vacation spot or activity.

Nothing but blue skies

Blue skies?  Not so much lately here in Iowa.  Considering what's gone on in the country, I'm not going to complain. I'm on my knees every night thankful for all my blessings. My prayers go out to all those many people who went through those devastating tornadoes and flooding  the last couple of weeks. 

This is a Hambo Rubber Stamp that I got with a gift certificate from Sherri.  I just love how it turned out, even after I rolled over part of it with my chair. Gurrr!

As I said, this is a Hambo Rubber Stamp. I colored my beach and umbrellas with Copics and shaded with Prisma pencils and Gamsol.  The paper is from Karen Foster Designs. My sewing machine has been a little temperamental lately so I used a little ribbon to cover up the boo boo.  I put a little simmer in the sand with some Stickles.  The "Sending You" is from Anna Griffin and the "Nothing but blue skies" was done on the computer and cut out with a Spellbinders label die.

Let's all remember all of those who sacrificed so much this Memorial Day.

Too Much Fussing!

Okay, I fussed with this flower for 3 days.  It is so beautiful, I just couldn't decide how to display it. It has been on black paper, pink paper, yellow paper. It's been by itself, with other flowers, mounted unmounted and curled.
So tonight I just said ENOUGH. Good grief, it isn't like I can never use it again on another card in a different way.  So done, finished, completed. Here it is.

This is one of my most favorite flowers by Stampendous. I colored it up with Copics, then used it as a background is black. I used a Martha Stewart punch to mount it and pop it up. I used some Stickles on the center of the flower and put a jewel on each corner.  The lovely sentiment is from Verve Stamps.

Who's Right?

Okay, so DH and I disagree. I bought this new comforter to replace current the drab celery green one. He thinks this is over the top. He has a point. It does have a bit of the wow factor.  My points are; the our bedroom doesn't have any other pattern, the carpet and walls are the same color as the picture and shouldn't the bedroom have a little bit of wow??

So where do you think I got the inspiration for my card?

This is a Hero Arts stamp. Not much coloring here. I stamped it 3 times, once for background, 2nd and 3rd were on white and yellow. I cut out the white and yellow flowers out and popped them up on the gray-ish background. Then I mounted it in yellow and olive card stock.  It doesn't show well but the yellow was embossed with "With Love" Cuttlebug embossing folder. I also added some green glitter to the flower centers.

P.S. the comforter is now on the bed.

Purr-fect Friends.

Hi Everyone. I have been so busy lately, and when I do get some time, it seems I spend more time trying to find my Mo Jo. Thanks, to everyone who still checks in on me.  You are my purr-fect friends. I treasure my Saturday's when my friend Sherri and I can get together, have lunch and play all afternoon.  This is what I made.

This is an Inky Antics Stamp that I colored with Copics. (The photo kind of washed out the little gray cat).

I cut them out with Spellbinder's die and added some jewels and a ribbon. The DP is Basic Grey and the butterfly button on the bow was purchased at Michaels.

Dragon Breath

I've been very busy and a little stressed since my last post April 25th.  We went through a new software upgrade at the office, and no matter how much you plan, things just don't go completely as planned. But all is well now and I've had some me time.

I finally took a photo that showed of the fabulous glitter DP. Click on it to get a better view.

This is a Karen's Doodles digi that I colored with Prisma pencils and gamsol. The DP is My Mind's Eye.

I cut one of the paisleys and slipped the mounted image under it and topped it off with a couple of flowers that I purchased at Michael's.  

I don't know how old this image is, but I am entering it in Karen's Doodles Old But Goodie Challenge.

That's Krafty Thursday #50

I don't know why I don't use this craft card stock more often.  I love the effect. I haven't entered many challenges lately and  The Spotted Chick has a Thursday challenge at least once a month using craft card stock. And... this is her 50th challenge and she has challenged everyone to make it 50+ entries.  Here is my mine.

This is the Flourishes Gerbera Daisies.  Mine are pink.  I first stamped them on craft card stock. Then I colored really hard with white pencil on the daisies and then highlighted them with Copic #RV14 Begonia Pink. I also used Copics for the green.  You have to do a lot of testing, because the colors are not always what you expect when coloring on craft card stock.  I used pink thread to stitch, and mounted the daisies on black and two shades of pink.
